Chihuly at the de Young

This exhibit is probably the most amazing one I've ever seen. I recommend anyone who lives in the bay area to get their butts over to the de Young Museum and get a ticket and see it. The photos don't do it justice.

I had a random stranger tell me to go see this exhibit and I hadn't even of heard of it, and I've been recommended to see exhibits in the past but never thought twice about it, but for some reason this time around I really had a strange urge to go see it. My favorite part of the exhibit is the room with a clear glass ceiling, and when you look up there are hundreds of pieces of blown pieces of glass, making it feel like you are under the sea with color jelly fish. Each piece is intricate and beautifully crafted. Go see it, you're missing out if you don't.

PMC it's like a drug

Geezes it's been awhile. So, I am officially addicted to something new. It's called PMC (precious metal clay) I know it sounds like some sort of drug. What it is; clay of microscopically ground pure silver, water and organic binder that turns into a solid silver object after firing in a kiln (of if it's smaller than a quarter with a torch). PMC can make pendants, charms, earrings, rings I mean the list goes on.
I took my very first jewelry class at Baubles & Beads in Berkeley last Sunday to learn the ways of PMC. Let me tell you the class was great and I made some really cool stuff. I recommend Emily as a teacher, for sure. I have been beading for probably the past six years and finally I found something that I can add to my jewelry that can really make the piece original. I have gone out and bought all the stuff to continue making things out of PMC and I'm already learning various things I can add to my PMC.
